Waste Stream Pilot
We are currently seeking candidate businesses to participate in a pilot program focusing on energy conservation and waste stream management. There will be no cost to participants, management’s time commitment should be less than one hour, and we will execute confidentiality agreements to protect participant’s interests.
The benefits to participants will be:
-
Identification of opportunities to reduce operational costs and improve cash flow
-
Analysis of energy usage and opportunities to flatten demand and reduce energy requirements
-
Analysis of waste stream and opportunities to reduce waste output and scrap
-
Analysis of opportunities to increase recycling, substitute less costly or environmentally neutral materials, and reduce waste management costs
-
Analysis of the bottom-line impacts of implementing identified opportunities
-
Potential to be included in a campaign promoting “Profits thru Conservation”
-
Assistance with funding offsets, tax credits, and implementation of identified conservation opportunities
The purpose of this pilot is to demonstrate that the financial benefits of using environmentally-conscious methods to reduce energy usage and generate less waste are significant enough to support the development of a program to assist small and medium-sized businesses with implementing such strategies.
We are accepting five (5) candidates in each of the following industry sectors:
manufacturing; medical/dental; financial services; retail (including restaurants & spas); warehousing/distribution; professional offices; printing
Potential candidates must use more than 45,000 kWh of energy per month (about $5k/month) and/or generate production scrap, waste oils, use compactors, dumpsters or waste haulers.
Businesses with wide variability in energy usage (uneven bar heights on their utility bill energy-use graph) would make good candidates as their energy costs are higher than they need to be.

Profits Through Conservation
You hear people talking about being "Green" all the time. But the fact is that most business people need to be more focused on the "Green" attached to their bottom line than the environment.
Fortunately, there are ways to reduce costs, increase profits and engage new clients, all while minimizing your business's impact on the environment.
An often overlooked opportunity to improve operations and increase cash flow involves two things that all businesses have – energy and waste.
Every business uses energy, be it electricity, gas or oil. Aside from attempts to obtain good vendor pricing, typically little consideration is given to identifying opportunities to manage and reduce energy use and thereby reduce energy costs.
Likewise, every business generates some kind of waste. Whether it is paper and cardboard, scrap materials, manufacturing by-products, liquids or hazardous waste, businesses typically pay little attention to how they are handled or the true costs associated with their waste stream.
By gaining a better understanding of how your business utilizes energy and deals with its waste stream, you can take advantage of cost reductions, tax credits and additional revenue streams that can improve your bottom line.
By focusing on these areas, we have helped
clients realize savings and improvements ranging from 20% to 75% and more.
Profit Miners can show you how to take advantage of such opportunities and help you implement strategies to maximize the potential benefits. Participating in our Energy-Waste Stream Pilot would be a good way to get started.
